Indian Institute of Technology Dhanbad,In recognition of its vital role in the service of mineral exploration and the mining sector, IIT (ISM) was granted autonomy in 1967 by the government of India. Admissions
Admission to IIT (ISM) Dhanbad's B.Tech programs is primarily based on the candidate's performance in the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced). Candidates must first qualify the JEE Main examination to be eligible for JEE Advanced. Post clearing JEE Advanced, candidates participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process, where they can select IIT (ISM) Dhanbad as their preferred institution. The final seat allocation considers the candidate's rank, preferences, and availability of seats. For M.Tech admissions, candidates need a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score, followed by participation in the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) rounds.
