Admissions
Admission to IIT Palakkad's undergraduate programs, particularly the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), is through the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced), a highly competitive exam conducted annually. Candidates must first qualify in the JEE Main examination to be eligible for JEE Advanced. The selection process is based on the All India Rank (AIR) secured in JEE Advanced, followed by participation in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling process, where candidates can choose their preferred IIT and engineering branch based on their rank and availability of seats. For postgraduate programs like the Master of Technology (M.Tech), candidates are required to qualify in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Admissions are granted based on GATE scores, followed by counseling or interviews as per the institute's criteria. Doctoral program (Ph.D.) admissions involve a rigorous selection process, including evaluation of academic records, research proposals, and interviews. Prospective Ph.D. candidates are often expected to have qualified in national-level examinations such as GATE, CSIR-NET, or UGC-NET. Detailed information regarding eligibility criteria, application procedures, important dates, and selection processes is available on the official IIT Palakkad website. Aspiring students are advised to regularly check the website for updates and adhere to the specified timelines for applications.
